The role of the university in the development of scientific research as an input to achieve a knowledge society - Study in the constraints and the possibility of incorporation

Abstract

The present study aimed to identify the constraints and difficulties facing the scientific research in Arab universities, and provide some suggestions on how to contribute to the development of universities in scientific research for the establishment of a knowledge society in the Arab world ,  and The problem of the study are represented in the following questions:
1 - What are the features and indicators of the knowledge society and its impact on the Arab university education ?
2 - What are the main challenges of the establishment of a knowledge society in the Arab educational environment ?
3 - What are the main obstacles and difficulties facing the scientific research in Arab universities ?
4 - What is the role of universities in the development of scientific research for the establishment of a knowledge society in the Arab world ?
The study concluded to put up a set of proposals related to the role of the university in the development of scientific research for the establishment of a knowledge society in the Arab world , marked by the need to provide appropriate financial support for the development of scientific research in Arab universities, and activating the partnership between universities - as institutions of research - and between the private sector , and to emphasize on the principle of the independence of universities , and to draw a clear policy for scientific research in universities , and develop a strategy with specific goals for scientific research in the Arab countries , and the development of infrastructure and infrastructure within the state encouraging scientific research in the field of IT , and the universality of university education in the light of the knowledge economy , and put new mechanisms to encourage faculty members to conduct scientific research , the establishment of a Higher Council for Scientific Research ; featuring experts and researchers in universities and the private sector , and the adoption of clear mechanisms to commercialize scientific research results that are prepared in research institutions.
