Peer Review Process
- The articles submitted for publication in the journal - before being refereed - are subject to a plagiarism checker and citation rate examination by the Alexandria University’s Digital Library Unit within the framework of cooperation between the Digital Library Unit at Alexandria University and the Faculty of Education Journal- Alexandria University (FEJ-AU), in order to ensure the integrity of the scientific research so that the total similarity rate does not exceed (maximum 25%), and the highest citation rate from the same source (maximum 15%).
- The editor-in-chief is responsible for selecting the research accepted for publication in the journal and approving the referee’s identity.
- The submitted articles are subject to review according to the system followed in the journal, where the research is sent blindly —without mentioning the researcher’s name– to two reviewers whom must be professors from inside or outside the faculty/university, taking into account the precise specialization in the research topic. The reviewer is obligated to write a report addressed to the editor-in-chief on the suitability of the research for publication in the journal within twenty days from the date of sending the research to him, and the researcher is informed of the final opinion reached by the editor-in-chief after reviewing the reviewers’ reports, provided that the period from receiving the research until the decision to accept the research or not does not exceed one month at most.
- The article is returned to the reviewer after making the amendments and modifications to verify their correctness, in the event that the reviewer’s final decision is that the research needs substantial amendments.
- The submitted article becomes acceptable for publication and is published in the first volume issued after the reviewing process —as much as possible— if the two reviewers agree together to accept the article for publication without modification. If the two reviewers or one of them sees the need to make further modifications, the article has to be returned to its author to make the required modifications, and he must do so as soon as possible, and before the issue is published with sufficient time. If one of the reviewers sees that the article is acceptable for publication and the other sees that it is not acceptable, the matter is referred back to the editor-in-chief to decide on the matter based on the justifications mentioned by each arbitrator in his report.
- In the event that the submitted article is not accepted for publication by the reviewing committee, the journal editorial board will send a letter of apology for publishing the research, attaching a copy of the reasons for the decision of non-acceptance.
- The professor's research will not be judged (internally or externally), and he will be exempted from reviewing costs if he is the only author of the submitted article — and it is paid in the event of his participation with other authors and researchers within the same article, and there will be no exemption from publication costs.
