The Role of Students Clubs in Reinforcing Cooperation Value in Female Students of El-Dammam University and their Effect on Academic Achievement

Abstract

The present study attempts to (1) identify the role of different Students Clubs of El-Dammam University (represented in culture, arts and theatre clubs, Al Manar , and  AL Noureen clubs ) in reinforcing cooperation value (as one of social values) in Female Students through different educational activities presented in these clubs, (2) identify to what extent female students of El-Dammam University have cooperation value, (3) identify differences among various clubs in the degree of having the cooperation value in the students, and (4) identify the differences in academic achievement between participant and non-participant female students in students clubs. To achieve these objectives, Attitude towards Cooperation Value Questionnaire was developed by the research. Two samples were selected among female students of El-Dammam University. One-hundred twenty six were from participant female students in various students clubs and persistent in participation in various students activities. One-hundred twenty eight were from second level students who have not any activities in the faculty and never participated in students activities even in secondary stage. The questionnaire was administered to the samples of the study. Data were statistically manipulated using T-test and One Way Analysis of Variance (F-Test). Results showed statistically significant differences between scores of participant and non-participant female students in students clubs on Attitude towards Cooperation Value Questionnaire in favor of participant female students in students clubs 
Moreover, there were no statistically significant differences between participant and non-participant female students clubs in  achievement . Results discussed in the light of  literature and previous study
