Almost Perfect and its Relation to Procrastination Among AL-Hussein Bin Talal University Student in the Light of Certain Variables

Abstract

This study aimed at exploring the relation between almost perfect and procrastination among students in AL-Hussein Bin Talal University. To achieve the purposes of this study, the researchers used the Almost Perfect Scale developed to the Jordanian environment by AL-Zaghalil (2008) and Arab Procrastination Scale developed by Abdul –Khaliq and AL- Dughaim(2011) .validity and reliability were calculated then both scales were applied to a sample of (339)male and female students (215) in scientific colleges and (124) in humanities. Means , standard deviations, ANOVA and Pearson correlation were used to answer the questions of this study. The results revealed an average level of almost perfect among students and a statistically significant differences related to sex in favor of female students, kind of college in favor of scientific colleges and academic achievement in favor of excellent. however, there were no statistically significant differences of almost perfect related to academic level or birth order. The study also showed an average level of procrastination among students that there were statistically significant differences related to sex in favor of male students, academic achievement in favor of pass, kind of college in favor of humanities. No significant differences  in procrastination related to academic level or birth order were revealed. In addition, the study revealed a weak but an increasing correlational relation between perfectionism and procrastination among those students.
