Abstract

       This study aimed at investigating the sources of Leadership power at the secondary school Headmasters in Karak - Jordan and its relationship with their philosophical attitudes. to achieve the goal of the study Questionnaire was developed to identify the sources of strength of leadership and other philosophical attitudes. which has been verified of validity and reliability and Applied to a sample of (230) of Headmasters. Results showed that the utility power came in first regarding of leadership power sources with high degree of practice, followed by the coercive force in the second arrangement and a moderate degree of practice, followed the power based on the principles in the third order with low degree of practice. Regarding for the philosophical attitudes, the results showed that the pragmatic philosophy of school directors came in first order with high degree, followed by attitudes toward the ideal of philosophy in the second order with high degree, followed by attitudes toward Islamic philosophy in third order moderately, followed by attitudes toward the existential philosophy in Ranking fourth also moderately. The results showed that there is statistically significant positive correlation between the power benefit and trends philosophical pragmatism, the coercive force and orientations philosophical idealism, and between the power based on the principles of the Islamic and existential and philosophical orientations. The study came up with some recommendations: sessions for school administrators in leadership and sources of power, especially based on the principles of power, and educate school directors with different educational philosophies and principles underpinning.
