Abstract

 
The major purposes of the study areto investigate the cognitive and national rationalesto promote the culture of dialogue among intermediate and secondary school students from teachers’ points of view, and to identify whether there are any statistical significant differences in students’ responses according to the variables of school stage and the years of experiences in teaching. To fulfil its objectives, the study made use of the analytical descriptive approach through questionnaire conducted to (711) teachers; (370) from intermediate schools and (341) from secondary schools atthe city of Riyadh.
The major findings include:
-         The responses of the study subjects revealed the need for both the cognitive and national rationales to promote the culture of dialogue among intermediate and secondary schools with mean (4.30) for cognitive rationales and (4.36) for national rationales, which occurred within the response (strongly agree).
-         There were no statistical significant differences in students’ responses to the rationalesrequired for promoting the culture of dialogue according to the variable of school stage.
-         There were no statistical significant differences in students’ responses to the national rationales required for promoting the culture of dialogue according to the variable of the years of experiences in teaching.
There were statistical significant differences in students’ responses to the cognitiverationales required for promoting the culture of dialogue according to the variable of the years of experiences in teaching.
