The Role of Civil Dacoity Organizations in Sustainable Development A field Study on The City of Alexandria

Abstract

The problem of this study is to identify the role of civil society in sustainable development. One of the theories that can direct the study towards achieving its goals from the theories of sustainable development are: The theory of optimal economic growth: The theory of optimal economic growth in its form as presented by Frank Ramsey and developed by others from After that, it is a comprehensive theory to visualize the utilitarian approach, as it considers that the possibility of losing the benefit of one individual or one generation can be balanced with the increase in the benefit of another individual or generation. The questionnaire form included several main items. Each item contained a set of questions through which the views and trends of the residents of Alexandria were identified about the contribution of the activities of civil society organizations to sustainable development in the city of Alexandria. As for the study sample, it was chosen in a deliberate way to meet the purposes of scientific research, where The sample size was determined about (200) individual members of the Egyptian community in Alexandria Governorate. Among the most important results of the field study
1-   It is noticed that the most effective institutions in the field of environmental preservation were charitable societies, then clubs, then labor unions, and finally political parties.
2-    It became clear from the study that the respondents believe that the most important activities of these institutions in the field of environmental protection are educating citizens about preserving the environment, contributing to the cleanliness of streets, presenting plans to treat environmental problems and visiting places of environmental damage.
3-One of the most important sources of funding is the marketing of products, donations and member subscriptions.
4-The most prominent problems facing civil society are the lack of conscious leaders, followed by non-compliance with laws, and internal conflicts.
5-Most of the research sample members see the role of the state in facing the problems of these institutions is limited to tightening punishment on institutions that violate the law and tightening control
