Measuring the Importance of Teaching Physical Education during the Corona crisis from The Parents’ point of view of in the State of Kuwait

Abstract

This research aims to identify the impact of the Coronavirus crisis on the educational process in Kuwait, the procedures taken by the Ministry of Education to confront it, the importance of teaching physical education to students during the crisis, and the role of parents in following up lessons remotely. The researcher used the descriptive-analytical method because it is suitable for the research topic. He used a questionnaire as a tool for the study and distributed it to the study sample, which consisted of 212 parents in Kuwait. Then, the researcher analyzed the results by statistical methods. The results of the research showed that there are no differences in the opinions of the sample members towards the importance of physical education due to the variables of gender and the type of school attended by the children. However, there are differences in their opinions due to the variables of educational qualification, number of children, and governorate. Moreover, there are no differences in the opinions of the sample members regarding the importance of teaching physical education in the Corona period due to the variables of gender, the number of children, type of school, and governorate. Despite that, there are differences in the opinions of the sample members towards the importance of teaching physical education during the Corona period due to the educational qualification variable. The researcher recommended the need to work on increase the level of parents' awareness of the importance of physical education in schools through conferences, training programs, and advertisements that explain the importance of students practicing sports, whether inside or outside the school. He referred also to the importance of providing all the capabilities and demands in schools. This will lead to the effective and efficient performance of physical education in schools and educational institutions. In addition, it is necessary to conduct many research and studies on the importance of physical education in schools and educational institutions by academics and those who are interested. Moreover, he recommended the importance of performing physical education in the era of the Coronavirus to confront any problems or obstacles that may prevent the efficiency and effectiveness of implementation.
