The effectiveness Program based on strategies of emotional regulation to reduce alexithymia among deaf kindergarten children

Abstract

The present study aimed to identify the effectiveness of a program based on strategies of emotional regulation to reducealexithymia symptoms among deaf kindergarten children. Also aimed to identify the correlation relationship nature between emotional regulation and alexithymia also to identify The sample of study consists of (8) deaf children, between (5 – 6) years, the mean age of the sample are (5.79) and a standard deviation if (0.25). The descriptive correlative approach and the quasi-experimental approbation were used. The tools of the study were scale of emotional regulation (by the researcher), scale of alexithymia (by the researcher) and the program based on strategies of emotional regulation and alexithymia In addition(by the researcher).The result of the study found the significant Statistically passive correlation relationship between emotional regulation and alexithymia . A Statistically significant improvement in emotional regulation among the sample of the study. Also the effectiveness of the program in reducing alexithymia among deaf children.. The effectiveness of a program based on emotional regulation strategies in reducing alexithymia severity in the study sample, and the absence of statistically significant differences between  the mean scores of the study sample in the post and follow-up measurements on the alexithymia scale. The researcher recommended the necessity of training deaf children on strategies of emotional regulation: (refocusing on planning،  positive refocus ،social participation، reappraisal.  ) in order to develop their ability to understand and manage emotions and feelings, and then improve emotional and emotional competence, and achieve psychological balance among deaf kindergarten children.
