The degree of female secondary school principals’ practice for the dimensions of transformational leadership and its relationship to achieving competitive advantage in Riyadh

Abstract

The study aims at identifying the relationship between the degree of female secondary school principals’ practice for dimensions of transformational leadership and its relationship to achieving competitive advantage in Riyadh. The descriptive survey and correlational methods are the tools that were used in the study. In addition, the questionnaire was used as a tool for collecting study data. The study sample is (611) female teachers of general education teachers at secondary schools in Riyadh were chosen by simple random sampling method. The results revealed that the degree of female secondary school principals practicing the dimensions of transformational leadership in Riyadh was very high. The dimensions were arranged in descending order as follows: (ideal influence - individual interest - cognitive arousal - inspirational motivation). The results explained that the degree of achievement of secondary school principals practicing competitive advantage in Riyadh is very high from the teachers’ point of view. The dimensions were arranged in descending order as follows: (creativity advantage - flexibility advantage - quality advantage - cost advantage). There is a direct and statistically significant correlation at the level (0.01) between transformational leadership and the competitive advantage of female secondary school principals in Riyadh. The study recommends holding training courses for female secondary school principals and improving the participation of female teachers in formulating the school's vision.
