The Effectiveness of McCarthy Model ( 4 MAT ) in Teaching Home Business Management Course for Developing Future Thinking Skills and Mental Motivation Among Home Economics Students in The Faculty of Specific Education in Qena

Abstract

The current study aimed to identify the effectiveness of using the McCarthy model (4 MAT) in teaching the course of home business administration to develop the skills of future thinking and mental motivation among students of home economics at the Faculty of Quality Education in Qena , The sample of the study consisted of (23) female students in the Department of Home Economics at the Faculty of Specific Education (12 students of a control group), (11 students of an experimental group who were taught using the McCarthy model 4 MAT), and applied to them the Future Thinking Skills Scale Prepared by: (Hallford & D'Argembeau, 2021) Translation: Researcher, Mental Motivation Scale Preparation: Researcher and Mental Motivation Scale Preparation:  (Researcher), and the parameter guide to the use of the McCarthy  model (4 MAT) in the teaching of the course of home business administration Preparation: (Researcher), the following statistical methods have been used: averages and standard deviations, correlation coefficients, Mann-Whitney U Test, Wilcoxon test for symmetrical pairs, effect size (ETA coefficient ) .
 Results showed that there is statistically significant effect of the use of the McCarthy Model in teaching the home business administration course on the development of future thinking skills (goal setting, planning, solving future problems, decision-making, social cohesion, organization of negative emotions, and organization of positive emotions) among students of home economics at the Faculty of Specific Education in Qena ,  The absence of statistically significant differences between the average grades of the students of home economics in the experimental group in the skills of future thinking in the dimensional and tracking measurements , The existence of a statistically significant effect of the use of the McCarthy Model in teaching the course of home business administration on the mental motivation of the students of the Department of Home Economics ,  The absence of statistically significant differences between the average grades of the students of home economics in the experimental group in mental motivation in the dimensional and tracking measurements.
