Obstacles facing the development of secondary school curriculums in the light of artificial intelligence requirements

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the obstacles facing the development of secondary school curriculums in the light of artificial intelligence requirements. The study followed a qualitative approach by applying a semi-structured individual interview on a sample of 30 faculty members in Saudi universities. To uncover these obstacles, which were: material, human, technical, as well as Administrative and organizational obstacles. The study also revealed many obstacles related to curriculums that may hinder the development of secondary school curriculums. And it came up with some suggestions that could contribute to reducing these obstacles. It also recommended creating a platform to publish all successful teaching practices of artificial intelligence, creating interactive electronic training programs for teachers on the uses of artificial intelligence in teaching, and developing a guide for ethics and right practices of artificial intelligence that regulates students’ work.
