Abstract

This research aims to explore how AI applications can be used to develop history curricula. To achieve the study's objectives, the descriptive method was employed to catalog studies and literature related to the research topic. A questionnaire was prepared as a research tool to gather information and understand history teachers' perspectives on using AI applications in developing history curricula at the secondary school level. The research sample consisted of 40 male and female teachers from secondary schools in Alexandria Governorate, East Educational Administration. After analyzing the data, the following results were obtained:
There is a significant agreement among the opinions of the surveyed secondary school teachers that AI applications are used in secondary schools in the form of web pages, voice chats, and online research. Opinions varied between high and moderate levels regarding the requirements for using AI applications (teacher/school), as well as the effectiveness of AI applications in developing history curricula. As for the effectiveness of AI applications in enhancing history teachers' efficiency, the opinions mostly leaned towards a moderate level, indicating that AI applications have not yet achieved the desired effectiveness in teaching curricula from the perspective of secondary school teachers in Alexandria, East Educational Administration. Therefore, the study's main recommendation is the necessity of training and equipping secondary school teachers to use AI applications in teaching various curricula, especially since there was a significant opinion favoring the effectiveness of AI applications in helping students learn the history curriculum.AI applications facilitate the improvement of the learning experience by providing interactive content and personalizing learning to students' needs. The research also demonstrated the potential use of AI technologies in analyzing historical data and extracting important results, which helps improve the quality of education and learning. Based on these findings, it is recommended to include AI applications in history curricula to enhance interaction, improve students' understanding, and develop analytical and critical thinking skills.
The AI applications that can be used in developing history curricula include machine learning applications, intelligent tutoring systems, virtual and augmented reality, AI-based text analysis, and educational robots. These applications work together to enhance the learning experience and improve student interaction and understanding in the field of history. Additionally, e-learning platforms enable students to easily and flexibly access educational resources, while educational games provide interactive experiences that enhance understanding and active participation. Digital documents and online resources facilitate access to a wide range of historical materials, and visual and audio technologies help clarify historical events more effectively. Finally, social platforms and participatory environments offer opportunities for interaction and the exchange of ideas and opinions on historical topics, thus enhancing engagement and active learning.
