A Proposed Administrative Guide to Improve Kuwait University Position in the Times Higher Education World Universities Ranking

Abstract

The study aimed to propose an administrative guide to improve the position of Kuwait University in the Times Higher Education (THE) world ranking of universities. To achieve the purpose of the study, the descriptive developmental approach was used to suit the purpose of the study. The study sample consisted of (102) academic leaders from Kuwait University, who were selected Using a stratified random sampling method, to achieve the objectives of the study, a questionnaire was developed and its validity and reliability were confirmed. The results of the study showed that the reality of Kuwait University’s application of the criteria of the Times World Classification of Universities (THE) to improve its ranking and advance in the classification from the point of view of academic leaders came at a moderate degree in all fields of study. The results also showed that there is a positive correlation between the correlation coefficient between all items and the overall field. It ranges between (0.55-0.91) as well as a positive correlation between all items and the overall scale ranging between (0.40-0.82). Accordingly, the researcher built a proposed administrative guide to improve Kuwait University’s position in the Times World University Rankings (THE) and achieve advanced positions to reach competitiveness.
