Reducing qualitative waste in the classroom at Industrial Technical Education in Menoufia Governorate in light of the Lean Management Approach “Case Study”

Abstract

          Technical education is one of the main ways to achieve sustainable development, as it provides students with the necessary practical skills in various fields, through which professional success is achieved, and classroom management has a prominent importance in the educational and pedagogical process as it seeks to maintain order, and provide an appropriate social and emotional climate for students, and through it, students' behavior is observed and modified, and they gain some trends such as bearing responsibility, self-confidence, cooperative work, and respecting the feelings and opinions of others.Therefore, the current research aims to identify the forms of qualitative waste in classroom management processes at the Girls' Industrial Technical Education School in the Shibin El-Kom Educational Administration in Menoufia Governorate (Sami Ali Nasr El-Din School),, and put proposed procedures to reduce them in light of the lean management approach.
         The research relied on the Ethnographic Methodology and Case Study Method because they were suitable for the nature of the research. Data were collected using a direct observation card,indirect observation and a standardized interview were conducted with four teachers (two specialized teachers and two cultural subjects teachers). The research reached seven forms of waste in current classroom management processes, which are (errors, excessive movement, mental effort, not doing activities that may add value to the educational process, excess activities, excess inventory, waiting, and also reached proposed procedures to reduce them in light of the lean management approach.
