Abstract

This study explored The effectiveness of a gamified teaching environment for teaching biography and jurisprudence in developing achievement and motivation among twelfth-grade female students in the State of Kuwait. Using a quasi-experimental design, the sample consisted of 47 female students divided into two groups: an experimental group (24(students taught using gamification and a control group (22(students taught traditionally over seven weeks. Two tools were used: an achievement test and a motivation questionnaire. The results indicated that gamification is an effective teaching method, fostering academic achievement by creating an engaging educational environment that integrates interaction, enjoyment, and practical application. Gamification improved understanding of biography and jurisprudence developed skills through immediate feedback and communication, and increased motivation by offering continuous challenges and rewards. It enhanced key motivational dimensions such as intrinsic motivation, personal importance, responsibility, self-efficacy, and career motivation, which encouraged active engagement. Furthermore, gamification reduced assessment anxiety by promoting effort and progress, thereby improving academic performance and students’ attitudes toward learning.
