Psychological Empowerment among Female Students of the College of Basic Education in the State of Kuwait in Light of Some Variables

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the level of psychological empowerment among female students of the College of Basic Education in the State of Kuwait and the impact of the variables (specialization, age, marital status) on that, the sample consisted of (273) female students in College of Basic Education. The results showed that the level of psychological empowerment as a whole was average among the study sample (m= 55.23), choice and good behavior came with a fairly high degree (M= 15.46), affecting in others came with a fairly high degree (M= 18.31), efficiency came with a medium degree (m= 15), and meaning came with a low degree (m= 6.44). The results indicated that there were no statistically significant differences between the averages of the study sample about (efficiency, influence on others) according to specialization variable, while there were differences about (meaning, choice and good behavior) and the total degree of psychological empowerment. And there are no differences about (meaning, competence) and the total degree of psychological empowerment according to age variable, while there are differences about (choice and good behavior, influence on others). The results also indicated that there were no differences about the total degree of psychological empowerment and all dimensions according to social status variable.
