Abstract

The current research aimed to analyze the path of direct and indirect causal relationships between goal orientations, self-leadership strategies, psychological empowerment, and job satisfaction among teachers. The study sample consisted of (342) male and female teachers who responded to the study tools, Namely the Goal Orientations Scale prepared by the researchers, the Psychological Empowerment Scale prepared by the researchers, the Self-Leadership Strategies Scale prepared by (Houghton & Neck, 2002) translated by the researchers, and the Job Satisfaction Scale prepared by the researchers. The research hypotheses were verified using the Path Analysis method using the AMOS program (23) to examine the direct and indirect paths in the hypothesized model, and using the Bootstrapping test methodology to determine the significance of the direct and indirect effects. The research results indicated the goodness of fit of the hypothesized model, and the existence of a statistical fit between the proposed model of the relationships between the study variables and the data of the current sample. The results also indicated that there was a positive, statistically significant direct effect of each of (performance avoidance, self-leadership strategies that focus on behavior, and psychological empowerment) on job satisfaction among the study sample. There is also a positive and direct effect of each of (the three self-leadership strategies, mastery goal orientations, and performance goal orientations) on psychological empowerment, and there is also a statistically significant positive direct effect of the mastery goal orientations on the three self-leadership strategies. The (Mastery orientations, performance orientations, and the three self-leadership strategies) also have a positive and significant indirect effect on job satisfaction through psychological empowerment. Also There is a positive and significant indirect effect of mastery goal orientations on psychological empowerment through the three self-leadership strategies in the study sample.
