Abstract

The study aimed to explore the impact of using the Six Thinking Hats Strategy on developing creative thinking skills among students at the College of Education, Kuwait University, focusing on improving fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration performance. The researcher applied the experimental approach to a sample of students from the Special Education Department, who were randomly selected. The experiment was conducted during the first semester of the academic year, involving students in the experimental group and (45) students in the control group. The Six Thinking Hats Strategy training program was applied to the experimental group, while the control group was taught using traditional methods. The researcher utilized various assessment tools to evaluate creative thinking skills, including pre-and post-tests for creative thinking (fluency, flexibility, originality, elaboration), in addition to questionnaires to track the students' progress. The results revealed statistically significant differences at the (0.01) level between the performance of the experimental and control groups in favor of the experimental group, indicating the effectiveness of the Six Thinking Hats Strategy in enhancing students' creative thinking skills. The researcher recommended integrating this strategy into university curricula to further develop creative thinking skills.
